Elgeyo Marakwet Hon Kipchumba Murkomen has informed of plans to disappoint President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Tuesday as they are expected to make a final decision on the County Revenue Allocation formula.
According to Murkomen, the Senator has penned in his social media asserting that in the County Allocation of Revenue debate which is slated on 4th August. His take is that a Win-Win formula is possible promising to stick with equitable sharing of funds to counties.
“In the County Allocation of Revenue debate, my take is that A WIN-WIN is possible. INAWEZEKANA !” Murkomen has asserted.
The remarks from Murkomen are contrary to President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s stand on the County Revenue Allocation formula and who has been calling upon Senators to support the proposed revenue allocation formula by the Commission of Revenue Allocation (CRA).
It has however been established that the Orange Democratic Movement Party leader has requested the Senators from the Minority side to rally behind the proposed County Revenue Allocation calling upon Senate Minority James Orengo to mobilize his team from National Super Alliance[NASA].
During the previous Senate sitting, 25 senators voted a NO on the proposed formula, with 18 of them belonging to the National Super Alliance[NASA] side.
Those who opposed included Sen Fatuma Dullo, Ibrahim Ali, Issa Juma, Hajj Moh’d Yussuf, Hargura Godana, Ekal Malachi, Boniface Kabaka, George Khaniri, Sam Ongeri, Stewart Mazdayo, Cleophas Malala, Eric Mogeni, Mutula Kilonzo, Johnes Mwaruma, Mwinyihaji Faki, Ledama Ole Kina, Sakaja Johnson, Enoch Wambua, Kindiki Kithure, Lelegwe Ltumbesi, Anwar Loitiptip, Mahamud Mohamed, Wario Juma, Philip Mpaayei, Kipchumba Murkomen.
